Chile mainly exports cooper products, fish powder, pine wood, fish oil
and salmon to Viet Nam, while importing coffee, shoe, printers,
garments, cotton material and ceramics. In the reviewed period, Chile’s import value from Viet Nam increased 7.7 percent to 48 million USD. Two-way trade between Chile and Viet Nam reached 160.7 million USD in 2006, six times higher than that of 2004. Chile has planned to speed up negotiations with Viet Nam on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), considering it a priority in 2008.
